The young athletes from ISSE had also achieved from the International Sports Competitions. In 1998-99 academic year a prominent young athlete Maung Aung Thura has been sent to Spain to observe 1999 World Athletic Championship. In 1999-2000 academic year, Taekwondo athlete Ma Kay Zin Zaw Gyun received one Bronze medal. In 2000-2001 academic year two prominent swimmers Maung Thet Ko Ko Tun and Ma Zin April Aung were sent to take part in the 27th SEA Age Groups Swimming Competition, which was held in April, 2000 in Brunei Darussalem, and Maung Thet Ko Ko Tun received one Silver medal and one bronze medal. In 6th SEA Judo Championship which was held in Vietnam in August, 2000, the young judoka Naw Aw Shar Paw took part and received one silver medal. In 2000 year, U 16 Asian Youth Football Tournament, two young footballers Maung Zaw Zaw and Maung Hein Zeyar Kyaw were selected for the Myanmar National Youth Team.

In 2000 year Malaysia International Archery Competition the sharp archer Maung Win Min Zaw represented the National Archery Team and received one gold medal in the team event. Two young shuttlers Ma Nay Zar Hlaing and Maung Pye Phyo Thein were selected as new generation promising athletes by Myanmar Badminton Federation and they are having their regular training at the camp.

In 2001, 21st SEA Games which was held in Malaysia, Maung Aung Thura received one Gold Medal in 10000 m race in Athletic Competition, whereas Maung Win Min Zaw and Maung Yan Aung Soe from Archery, Maung Hein Zeyar Kyaw from Football and Ma Nyein Nyein Aung from Pancak Silat received one bronze medal each.

In the 1st ASEAN Age Group Swimming Championship, which was held in March, 2002, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Maung Aung Myo Oo represented the national youth Swimming Team and won (3) bronze medals for the country.

Due to these achievements and outstanding activities the Integrated School for Sports and Education was awarded by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) through Myanmar Olympic Committee (MOC) “ Sport and Education Trophy” during the year 1999. Under the guidelines given by the Head of State, a new Institute of Sports and Physical Education was established in Mandalay (Upper Myanmar) on 1st June, 2002. In this Institute the Integrated School for Sports and Education and Training Camps were opened regularly and all the young and talented athletes were attending in their respective Sports Disciplines.
