Myanmar Olympic Committee

Myanmar Olympic Committee has been established since 26th November ,1946 . And was officially affiliated to the International Olympic Committee on 9th July,1947 . On 19th April,1993, according to the State Law and Order Restoration Council’s Law No.(6/93) Myanmar National Olympic Council Act was enforced and according to chapter (5), Myanmar Olympic Committee was re-established. According to Myanmar National Olympic Council’s notification No.(1/04), dated 2nd November, 2004, Myanmar Olympic Committee was again re-established as follows:-

International relationships between Myanmar Olympic Committee and International Sports Organizations

Since it's establishment and after the affilliation to the International Olympic Committee, Myanmar Olympic Committee had very close relationships with many other International Sports Organisations like IOC, International Sports Federations, National Olympic Committees from the various countries.
Myanmar took part for the very first time in the Olympic Games, which was held for the 14th. Anniversary, in London, England, in 1948, after it's independence. Myanmar became the founding members of the Asian Games Federation (AGF) (Later became Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in 1949, and the SouthEast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF in 1958) and took part in all the Asian Games and South East Asian Games.

Courses in Collaboration with International Olympic Committee (IOC) under the Olympic Solidarity Programme

Myanmar Olympic Committee in close Collaboration with the International Olympic Committee conducts National Sports Administrators' Courses and Sports Technical Coaching Courses under the Olympic Solidarity Programme since 1980's. This year in 2002, two National Sports Administrator's Courses were already conducted in July and September and another one more course to be conducted in November.
(Three) Sports Technical Coaching Courses for athletic, volleyball and swimming will be conducted during this year. In these Sports Administrators's Courses as well as Sports Technical Coaching Courses, the participants from Sports and Physical Education Department, Myanmar National Sports Federations and from Ministries concerned took part.
